A Fear of Flying

Apex Shadow - Episode 1x01: A Fear of Flying Detective Kate Kavanaugh investigates the death of Rory Redman, a superhero more publicly known as the Blitz, who she believes to be the latest victim of a serial killer simply called the Man in Black. As her investigation continues, however, she finds troubling suggestions of a conspiracy abound... and before long, ends up hip-wading through more tragedy and violence.
 
Welcome to the first episode of Apex Shadow! This is our first real project here on ValiantShadow Productions, and we hope you enjoy! Most of us are very new at this, so there are a couple small spots with rough audio. Please bear with us-- we're learning as we go, and we'll get better! Any and all feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
 
Content Warnings: Apex Shadow is an audio drama dealing with mature subject matter that some listeners may find upsetting. In this episode, please be aware of the following:
-Allusions to and discussions of r*pe and s*xual assault
-References made to disability in the wake of an accident
-Depictions of extreme violence, though mostly of a fantastical nature
-Murder
-Strong language
-Discussion of trauma and its lingering effects

Following her brush with death, Kate is more determined than ever to bring down the Man in Black. But that'll have to wait, as both she and her new friend Jack are pulled into the orbit of the Turner family. Liam Turner, AKA The Champion, is thought of by many as the city's new symbol of hope in the wake of the Downtown Tragedy, and the disappearance of Apex. But when a domestic disturbance call reveals cracks in the veneer of the perfect family image, horrible truths must be confronted... even if that doesn't sit right with City Hall.

Welcome to the second episode of Apex Shadow! This episode was an absolute bear to complete. Many of the cast started or returned to school, and had to contend with less than ideal recording setups. A number of us got sick at the worst possible times. Family matters. Hardware troubles. Some numbskull accidently deleting most of the project files and having to start everything from scratch halfway through. (Ahem. Hey. 'Sup?) But, though it took far, FAR longer than it was ever meant to, here we are, with episode 3 right around the corner! I've brought on a production assistant, my good friend Christopher Z, from Audio Anomaly, to help make sure episodes continue to come out at a somewhat reasonable pace. He's doing great work on episode 3, and I can't wait for you all to hear it! Thank you all for your patience, and we hope you enjoy!
